Lately, I’ve been scheduling time to talk to people about what they are doing.  It’s important to my growth and development as a leader and though I am embedded in a tech-driven culture, I am still a people-person.

Today someone sent me a simple thank-you in the form of an gift-card.

“Thanks for the time on the phone the other day. I realize you have a packed schedule & respect the fact you took 45 mins to mentor. I appreciated the words of encouragement & the sheer fact of hearing from one who is involved in a career I’m seeking.”

What are you doing to thank and affirm others? What does this say to you?

I was having coffee with a friend recently and we were discussing funny things that we tweet and how we tend to tweet.  We are starting to see social media as part of everyday life for work, home, and even church.
